The LRC is an integral part of Cathays High School.
It plays an essential part in developing independent learning, by providing a wide range of resources to aid  and develop research, and to support the curriculum.

Resources:
There is a large stock of books, fiction and non – fiction
A reference section with encyclopaedias and dictionaries
A section  for pupils with English as an additional language
A section with books on Wales and Welsh culture

There are 38 computers – 21 in the main LRC and 17 in the 6th form area.
They all have internet access
There are black and white and  colour printers
There is a scanner for pupils and staff to use
There are videos and DVDs which can be borrowed
There are current newspapers and teenage magazines which can be read in the LRC

Staff :
The LRC is managed by Mrs Davies and Mrs Barrett, who are available to give help and support when required.

Learning how to use the resources :
An induction scheme is run for all pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 to learn how to use the resources.

There are also opportunities to read fiction for pleasure.

Opening Times :
Monday – Thursday : 8.10am – 4.10pm
Friday : 8.10am – 3.40pm
